Salty or Sweet??

Ahh the epic debate between salty and sweet. I feel like the battle rages on day after day in my house.

Every morning I have the same problem.

I can’t seem to decide what kind of breakfast sounds good.

Today I found myself somewhere in the middle…and ended up with a bagelwich minus the sausage, and a banana to balance out with some sweetness

See that snow? I hear we are getting more today…

If I was speaking about NOT JUST BREAKFAST…and I had to choose between salt and sweet in general, I would choose sweet.

I’d much rather have cookies and ice cream over chips and peanuts.

What about you? Salty or sweet?

WooHoo! I got out of class early and I couldn’t be happier!

Dinner was simple. I defrosted some of my good chicken soup and paired it with a grilled cheese on a sandwich thin and some pickles. Freezing batches of chili and soup are such a great way to always have a warm healthy dinner in a pinch.

So I haven’t received all that many questions on my Ask Me Anything Page but I figured I would answer the few that I got.

Remember that these are anonymous so i don’t know who is asking them. If there is ever anything you want to know- please feel free to ask me. I’ll make sure to answer them on the blog in a future post.

And as always, you can always email me at FoodIRL@gmail.com.

Q1.What are you in school for?

Right now I am pursuing my Masters degree in elementary education. When I graduate in the spring I will be certified to teach K-6 in Pennsylvania. My undergrad degree is in Marketing and International business and I worked in marketing for 6 years. Although I enjoyed my time in the field, I felt that my call to teaching was greater. I think that teaching kids how to read, write, and love learning is an amazing thing. I know that it is what I’m meant to do.

Q2: What are some goals you have for yourself in 5 years? Or 10 years?

Let’s see. In 5 years I hope to be a mom. I’d actually love to have two kids by that time but I’ll leave that up to the universe to decide. Since I am in school to become a teacher, I also hope that in 5-10 years I have secured a great teaching position in an elementary school.  Another long term goal I have is to run a marathon.

Q3: What hair products do you use? You’ve got some shiny hair

Why thank you! I am currently using some crappy Garnier shampoo and conditioner, but I do alternate between brands a lot. I usually go to Ulta and see what salon brand is on clearance and buy that.

As far as styling, I use Phyto’s Phytodefrisant Botanical Hair Relaxing Balm before I blow dry.

After I blow dry I spray Tresseme Heat Tamer Protective Spray on my hair:

Then I use a CHI 1 inch straightener. Best deal is at Folica.com

Finally, I use Alterna Caviar Serum after I straighten to smooth flyaways and add shine. My cousin is a hairdresser and she got this for me. It’s a little expensive but lasts a really long time.

Well I guess that’s a wrap for round 1.

Get your questions in and I’ll answer ‘em!

Have a great night!

Your turn!
