Great story, I, too, gave my former boss an "effective immediately" resignation. I initially felt bad doing it, but then I thought of the other people she had fired without any notice and without any real feeling. That made me feel better; and I even offered up a smile as I handed over my resignation and key to the building.

I just found your blog through a comment you left on another blog. Looks like our kiddos are about the same age! We're going through the whole "how to feed a baby food?!?" thing right now too. Honestly, baby-led weaning kind of freaked me out when we tried it, so we started with purees. Our baby (Lila) was kind of like yours-- not super into being fed with a spoon. Nowadays, she feeds herself about 75% of the time, and we try to sneak in a puree here or there.

Who knew feeding a baby could be so complicated... :-)

How are the solids going? My little guy is sort of over purees, he'd rather have what we're eating now so we are definitely doing more BLW. We also finally tried EGGS and he really likes them! :-D

I also wanted to let you know I nominated you for the Liebster Award, details for it are on my blog if you are interested! :-)

I had never even heard of BLW until my 3rd was born, and by that point, I really wasn't interested in trying something completely new when I knew my old system worked just fine. I did cereal first, then purees then a little puree first and then finger foods while the rest of the family ate. They were all about 11 months before eating more finger foods than purees.

I felt the exact same way, it took us a while to get to that point where BFing was nice and enjoyable and i wasn't sure if solids with mess things up, (reflux was working against us as well). I wanted to try BLW but I was too afraid and again not sure if our foods were the best option. I did homemade purees and he loved it, but now that he's 8.5 months he wants EVERYTHING, he stares us down when we're eating, even if he's already eaten his baby food. So we've been mixing in avocado and banana pieces here and there along with puffs which he's been great at feeding himself. I agree, I think I like the idea of BLW but not the actual putting it into action...lol. :-) When did you introduce eggs? Egg yolk first? or is it egg whites?

I think feeding solids is a ton of work! Way easier when it was just breastfeeding. I still prep separate foods for K for the same reasons you mentioned- needs to be the right texture & needs to have "passed" the 3 day allergy test. It's tough coming up with ideas all the time!
