Wow, what a day!!
After a great dinner last night at a chic bowling alley/restaurant called Bol, we got a good night’s rest.
We didn’t get to do any bowling, but plan on heading back this week when we aren’t so tired.
Even the bowling balls are cool!
We started out this morning with breakfast at the hotel at 8am. The spread was awesome, but I didn’t have my camera.
I ended up eating an omelet with ham, tomato, onion and pepperjack cheese, a piece of whole wheat toast, a small yogurt and a banana. Got to fuel up! I also took a bunch of granola bars and fruit for snacks back in our room.
Then we got ready to hit the slopes (I do wear a jacket too, and helmet, and goggles, and gloves and one of those face cover things)
Me and my awesome snowboarder brother
I got to my lesson at 9:45 am and spent the whole day with 4 other people and an instructor. We had such a great time!! I got much better at tightening my turns, getting off the lift, and improving my form.
We stopped for lunch around 12:30 and I had a cup of buffalo chili, another yogurt and a banana.
We’re making dinner at our condo now- grilled chicken and salad and then cozying up in front of the fire with some beers before bed.
I plan to call it an early night though- I have day two of lessons tomorrow!!
G’night!
I’ve always wanted to try snowboarding – I don’t ski, either. Can I start from scratch?
Yes absolutely! I think it’s better to start just snowboarding and not skiing. (if ultimately your goal is to snowboard) They are so different, it just makes it confusing if you ski first (I skiied first, so I can vouch for that!)
I have never tried to ski!!
i used to ski all the time! I tried snowboarding for a bit- but was a bit of a fail…. i never got how to get off the ski lift because you have to turn sideways and it freaked me out.. probs becuz i got stuck under one once.. :S
The lift is so scary, no matter how much better I get, i still fail at it at least a few times each day! Yesterday I almost took a guy out! Good thing he was 6’3 210 lbs!
U guys look so cute! That bowling alley looks so cool! I hope you have a blast today! Enjoy!
xo
Mindy
Thanks girl!
You are so cute in your gear!!
I want to go bowling now.. I havent been in FOREVER! of course i suck at it and always need bumpers
Bowling is such a blast, even if you suck!
Oh, this looks beautiful for sure! My husband and I were planning a trip there in a few weeks, but unfortunately now we are not going. So sad! Glad to see you wear a helmet because next time I ski, I am definitely getting one too. I’ll be a little braver with a helmet on. Have fun
Helmet all the way! I never go without one!
I’ve always wanted to learn how to ride…. I used to ski avidly when I was younger
So would that bowling alley place be a Lucky Strike by any chance?? I went to one in Louisville when I worked for the AVP (beach vball tour)
Hi Monique! It’s not Lucky Strike but similar, it’s called Bol. And what a cool gig working for the AVP!
Wohoo for lessons! I need lessons as im HORRIBLE at getting off the lift.. Pretty sure everytime i do i hit atleast one person.. whoops!
uggh getting off the lift is the WORST! It’s so awkward!
